Council Action Items

The Town Council held two public meetings on Monday, August 19 at the Town Hall. There was a Special Workshop meeting held at 2pm and a Regular Town Council Evening meeting held at 6pm.

The following is an overview of the Town Council’s actions take during these meetings:

Monday, August 19, 2019

• The Council discussed on of their priorities of diversifying, increasing and developing sustainable funding for the Town of Jackson.

• Strategies for providing workforce housing were revisited and staff was asked to pursue a project that is either rental or ownership with the two developers who had provided proposals, and bring back a plan for consideration.

• The Downtown Parking Plan was discussed, but time ran out before Council took any action on an implementation schedule.

Monday, August 19, 2019

• The Council approved meeting minutes and disbursements as presented, and accepted the July 2019 Municipal Court Report into the record.

• Temporary sign permits were approved for the Fall Arts Festival, CLIMB Training, and Laff Staff.

• Special events were approved for Wildy Creative Pop-Ups on the Square, Fall Arts Festival, and a supplemental request for the Farmer’s Market.

• A Professional Services Contract was approved with Simon Associates to update the Hillside Regulations.

• Damon Wilson, Gregory Buchko, Jade Beus, and Mike Mielke were reappointed to the Board of Examiners. Anne Schuler and Abi Petri were reappointed to the Planning Commission.

• The Council accepted the Karns Meadow Environmental Analysis (EA) and directed staff to submit the EA to the Planning Department, to initiate the drafting of a Comprehensive Resource Management and Site Development Plan which will be submitted for a Conditional Use Permit by January of 2020.

• Item P19-170, a Final Plat at 170 Redmond Street was continued to October 21st.

• Three ordinances were approved at second reading: Ordinance G, H, and I Amending and Reenacting the Town of Jackson Official Zoning Map to change zoning at 135 E Broadway, 175 E Broadway Avenue, and 105 E Broadway Avenue to Downtown Core.

• Ordinance J, updating the Housing Department Rules and Regulations was approved on first reading.

• Get Funky, LLC doing business as Roadhouse Brewing Company on Gregory Lane made a request to Council to remove some of the conditions of approval placed on their microbrewery permit. No direction was given to staff for immediate action, the Mayor will consider placing on a future agenda.

• The Town Managers report contained an update on Lodging and Sales Tax.
