START Bike Season Wraps-Up in October

Bikes will be slowly removed from service starting the week of October 15th

Jackson, Wyoming – October 11, 2018.  START Bus, in partnership with Friends of Pathways, plans to conclude the inaugural season of START Bike next week. On Monday, October 15, staff will begin to remove the START Bikes from town streets and into storage for the winter months.  It is anticipated that the START Bikes will be placed back into service in April of 2019.

START Bike provides a convenient and easy-to-use transportation alternative for short trips in the downtown area. This past summer, residents and visitors alike utilized the START Bikes located at docking stations throughout the Town of Jackson. During the week of October 15, those wishing to utilize the bike program are encouraged to use the START Bike app in order to locate available bikes.   Please expect that START Bike service will be reduced beginning next week.

START Bus would like to thank Friends of Pathways for administering a successful first year of START Bike. The bike share program operated efficiently, providing increased mobility for visitors and residents, meeting START’s mission of providing convenient transportation that is affordable, service oriented and environmentally friendly.

“START Bike is a leading example of government working with other entities to enhance the quality of life in our community,” said Darren Brugmann, START Director. “Thank you to everyone who participated in the first year of START Bike and to Friends of Pathways for operating the system.”

In the following weeks, START will release a use report on the START Bike program for the 2018 season.  For more information on START Bike, visit www.startbikejh.com.
