Police Blotter

December 3, 2019

Why else do people become police officers?  It’s not just about service and helping people.  If that were the case there are plenty of other public service jobs out there.  If we are being honest, police work can be a lot of fun and the cool factor is high.  The uniform is cool.  The tools, car and weapons are cool.  The paperwork is definitely not cool, but the variety of your day to day work is.  If you like solving problems, puzzles, and hunting for suspects, this is the job for you.  We’ll be hiring soon if you or someone you know is interested.  We’re always on the lookout for good people.

There was only one report call yesterday, leaving us plenty of time to help with other problems.

19120169:  On December 3, 2019, at 2:02 a.m., Sgt. Phillips responded to a report of a Collision Hit & Run  on Lilac Lane.  Fun fact.  Sgt. Phillips used to be the chief of police in Alpine, Wy before coming to serve our community.  He’s also our Taser and radar/lidar instructor and has quite a few years in law enforcement.  This call wasn’t one to really test his skills though.  Not when a witness had seen the suspect vehicle leaving the scene of the accident and recognized it as belonging to someone they knew.  If that wasn’t enough, the 29 year olds Jackson woman was arrested earlier by our brothers at the Teton County Sheriff’s Office for DUI.  Nice snag, guys.  That being the case, we knew exactly where to find the woman and she was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.  Solving crime is always a team effort.  Keep calling us when you see something that doesn’t look right and we’ll come check it out.

The end.
