START ADDS ADDITIONAL LATE NIGHT SERVICE
To help revelers get home safely on New Year’s Eve, START Bus will offer additional late-night in-town shuttles as well as an extra late-night service to and from Teton Village.
All of these routes will be “drop-off only” and originate at either the Town Square bus stop on located on Cache Street across from the Cowboy Bar and Local Restaurant or the Teton Village bus stop located by the tram dock.
"It's a service that we are happy to offer to both locals and visitors to make sure they get home safely,” said START Bus Director, Darren Brugmann. “We have offered a similar service to the community in the past and it was well-received.”
The free in-town shuttles will be offering late night revelers drop off service at designated START Bus stops throughout Town, East Jackson and the Cottonwood area. START will also offer an additional late night service to and from Teton Village for a fee of $3 per person.
The idea of these additional shuttles is to that ensure people have a safe ride home on a traditionally busy party night.
The Jackson Police Department would like to remind everyone to drive safely this New Year’s Eve.
For those who will be drinking, please plan ahead to have a sober ride home. Law enforcement partners will be out in full force to keep impaired drivers off the roadways.
“The Police Department is pleased to team up with our partners at START to help provide for the safest New Year’s Eve possible by providing alternatives to drinking and driving. We want everyone to enjoy themselves but celebrate responsibly by choosing to get home safely, “said Chief Smith.
