[ARCHIVED] Police Blotter

Press Blotter

January 21, 2020

Crime took a vacation yesterday, so there aren’t any reports to talk about, but we took 36 calls for service between the day and night shifts.

We’ve mentioned before that we are looking to hire some new officers.  Up to four, actually.  We’d like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in serving our community and who put in an application.  There are a lot of good candidates and we look forward to seeing you next week on testing day.  Good luck.

For those that may be wondering, the testing looks like this:  written test, physical test, and interviews.  Our interview panel is made up of several Jackson police officers, our wonderful assistant town manager, and a member of the community.  The chief or lieutenant will then make the final selections based on the interview board’s recommendations.  It’s an exhausting couple of days, but in the end, we hope to find the best candidates who are a good fit with our department and our town.

Enjoy your Wednesday and scatter a little kindness wherever you go.
