Police Blotter
February 10-11, 2020
We missed getting you a blotter yesterday. That will happen from time to time, but we will always catch up so you don’t miss out on what your police department is doing. We handled 57 calls for service over the past two days. Here are the ones that resulted in a report.
19121444: On February 11, 2020, at about 11:09 a.m., Sgt. Phillips responded to a report of Fraud. It looks like the victim reported having purchased a print that was to be delivered in the mail, but never received it. The victim believes it to be a deliberate fraud, so Sgt. Phillips is investigating the matter.
20021055: On February 10, 2020, at about 4:14 p.m., Sgt. Phillips responded to a Collision Hit & Run. The victim reported parking her vehicle on the 200 block of East Kelly. Went to her home for a few minutes, leaving her vehicle and the 94 year old woman she cares for inside. While she was gone, an unknown vehicle collided with hers and left the scene of the accident. That is not very nice. Fortunately, the woman was not injured.
20021057: On February 10, 2020, at about 4:24 p.m., Sgt. Phillips responded to a…Collision Hit & Run. The victim reported parked their vehicle on Broadway, in front of the Silver Dollar and when they returned found someone had collided with their mirror. It’s frustrating this kind of thing happens with such regularity.
20021072: On February 10, 2020, at about 6:28 p.m., Sgt. Phillips responded to a report of a man acting ’strange’ at one of our local hotels. He made contact with the man and believed him to be under some kind of narcotic and requested EMS. When he became unresponsive he was transported to the hospital for treatment. The next day the man complained we had interrupted his yoga/dance.
20021075: On February 10, 2020, at about 6:50 p.m., Officer Lancaster responded to a report of Collision Hit & Run. The suspect is reported to have run over a stop sign in the Domino’s Pizza parking lot. A witness saw the collision and reported it to police. Officer Lancaster has the license plate and name of the registered owner. He has reached out and is waiting for the person to call back. We’ll see if he will or if we’ll have to go find him.
20021121: On February 11, 2020, at about 10:19 a.m., Sgt. Phillips responded to a report of Fraud. This call is related to the one we started today’s blotter with. Someone ordered prints from a photographer, paid their money, but aren’t getting the prints. There are allegedly a number of other victims out there, so Sgt. Phillips is attempting to determine if a crime is being committed.
20021133: Lost Property (Driver’s License)
20021184: On February 11, 2020, RO White responded to a report of two young children left in a home alone, with one child on the front porch screaming for their parent wearing clothing not suitable to the below freezing temperatures. It was determined a teenage girl was babysitting six children ranging in age from 4 months to 6 years and lost track of one of them. After talking to everyone, RO White felt the matter serious enough the babysitter was written a citation for endangering the child. This would also be something we’ll report to the Department of Family Services to ensure the children are being properly cared for.
