Police Blotter

February 21-23, 2020

We handled 113 calls for service between Friday and Sunday.  It wasn’t terribly busy, but here are the ones that ended in police reports.

20021904:  On February 22, 2020, at about 7:36 a.m., Cpl. P. Smith responded to a report of Destruction of Property.  The victim reported his post office box had been damaged by graffiti.

20022180:  On February 21, 2020, at about 1:22 a.m., Officer O’Donnell responded to a report of an intoxicated man.  He found the man kneeling in Phil Beaux Park staring East.  Was he waiting for the sun to come up?  We’re not sure, but even though dressed fairly well for conditions he appeared to be suffering the signs of exposure in the -10 degree temperatures.  Officer O’Donnell arrested the 26 year old Jackson man for Public Intoxication to make sure he had a warm place to be until he was sober enough to make his way home.

20022265:  On February 21, 2020, at about 3:59 p.m., Officer Mattson was driving down the road, looking "Too cool for School" in his shiny police car.  He probably had his shades on while jamming to the beat of some melodious tunes when he saw three elementary age boys chasing his police car.  We’re wondering if he kept going for a bit to make sure they got their exercise before stopping.  He did stop…eventually, and spoke to the boys who had just found a $100 dollar bill.  They wanted to make sure it got back to the rightful owner.  Wow.  These are some cool kids.  Whoever their parents are, keep doing what you’re doing.  Officer Mattson has reached out to the residents where money was found and we are waiting to hear back from the owner.

20022237:  On February 21, 2020, at about 12:15 p.m., Officer Raab responded to a report of found drug paraphernalia.  We collected the item and booked it for destruction.

20022286:  Collision Hit & Run, no suspects.

20022317:  On February 22, 2020, at about 12:42 a.m., Officer O’Donnell responded to a report of an intoxicated person creating a disturbance at the Rose.  The man was apparently ejected by bar staff, pushed a woman and then got into an argument with her husband.  The man fled before we arrived, but Officer O’Donnell found him about twenty minutes later.  He was heavily intoxicated and missing one shoe.  With all that had happened, Officer O’Donnell decided arresting he 47 year old Big Sky, MT man for Public Intoxication was a good idea.  The arrestee’s portable breath test was a .256%.

20022319:  On February 22, 2020, at about 1:49 a.m., Sgt. Ruschill stopped a vehicle on suspicion of DUI.  He contacted the driver and found him to be intoxicated.  They did some field sobriety testing and the man did poorly.  Sgt. Ruschill had to arrest the 29 year old Jackson man For driving under the influence.

20022347:  On February 22, 2020, at about 11:35 a.m., Sgt. Phillips responded to a report of theft.  The victim reported that someone had stolen the license plates off of their vehicle.  If you see anyone sporting the license plate 22-8413, please give us a call.  Them plates aren’t theirs.

20022406:  collision Hit & Run, no suspects at this time.

Welcome to Monday, Jackson.  Have a great week!
