Police Blotter

March 25, 2020

As you might expect, call volume is way down.  We handled only 25 calls for service between the day and night shifts.

20032208:  On March 25, 2020, at about 10:15 p.m., Officer O’Donnell responded to a disturbance at a local hotel.  It was reported that two men got into an altercation.  It seems the source of their disagreement stemmed from what to do next after going to Albertson’s to purchase alcohol and finding it closed.  The victim received minor injuries from the altercation.  After speaking with the victim, officers attempted to contact the suspect.  Upon opening the door to find two uniformed officers on his doorstep, the man shut the door, but not before the odor of marijuana wafted out.  The suspect refused to come out and the officers chose not to proceed further.  Why?  They know who he is, they know he is on probation with terms of no drugs or alcohol, and they know where to find him.  We will be applying for a warrant or summons to have him appear in court.  Oh, and as Officer O’Donnell was leaving, he saw the suspect dumping liquids from glass bottles out his rear window.  We think the cats already out of the bag, but we’ll give him a D for effort.

That’s it from yesterday.  Have a great day however you are choosing to wait the Corona Virus out.
