Blotter time!
20041397: On April 15, 2020, Sgt. Ruschill responded to a report of Trespassing at a local motel. When he arrived, he learned that the suspect had come from out of state seeking job opportunities. Unfortunately, his timing with everything going on related to Covid-19 was terrible. The man asked Sgt. Ruschill to arrest him, but the sergeant declined when he found out the man had a bus ticket he could use at any time to return to his home state. They reached an agreement that he would leave the following day and use his bus ticket to return home. That didn’t happen, though. The next day, Officer Peery responded for the same complaint. We tried other options for housing and assistance, but we were not able to help this man, who was still refusing the leave the motel he had no money to pay for. He was also very, very intoxicated and submitted to a portable breath test with a result of .45%. We had the 54 year old Bullhead City, AZ man medically cleared before having him booked into the jail for Trespassing.
