The Town of Jackson’s Public Works Department will begin two more projects starting April 20, 2020.  These projects will necessitate road closures in the downtown district.

  • 2020 Sidewalk Improvement Project – Starting Monday, April 20, 2020, the Town of Jackson and Evans Construction will be closing Jackson Street between Broadway Avenue and Pearl Avenue to begin streetscape construction.   The project is anticipated to be completed by late May / early June.  Starting Monday morning there will be no parking on this portion of Jackson Street and pedestrian access will be limited to the west side of Jackson Street.  The alley access from Milward to Mountain Modern will be limited to local and business traffic only.   Businesses will remain accessible during this construction project.

  • 260 West Pearl Water Service Project  – Starting Monday, April 20, 2020, the Town of Jackson will begin the excavation for the 260 West Pearl Water Service Project.   On Monday, April 20 and Tuesday, April 21 the eastbound lane of Pearl Avenue between South Jackson and South Milward will be closed for excavation work.  Eastbound traffic will be detoured south on Jackson, east on Simpson and north on Milward before returning to Pearl.  On Monday, April 27 this same section of Pearl will be closed once again for paving.  The sidewalk on the south side of Pearl will be closed on April 20, 21 and 27.  Motorists, Bicyclists and Pedestrians alike are advised to seek alternate routes in the vicinity of this construction activity.

Please be aware of, and obey all construction notification signage, and parking restriction signage as it is there for your safety and the safety of the construction workers.
