Police Blotter
May 15-17, 2020

Welcome to the blotter.  As more people are getting out, there is more happening that needs our attention.  Here are the calls for service that resulted in reports over the weekend.

20051541:  On May 15, 2020, at 4:59 a.m., RO Schmidl responded to a report of Trespassing.  The reporting person reported juveniles were having a party on their property.  They obviously didn’t know, nor were they invited to the party.  RO Schmidl is still working on the report, but it looks like the juveniles were gone prior to our arrival.

20051565:  Found Property (bicycle)

20051581:  On May 15, 2020, at 1:07 p.m., Officer Peery responded to a report of a male who was threatening multiple drivers with a gun.  You can bet he brought every other cop in town with him.  If you were down by the post office on Maple Way on that date, you would have seen both police and sheriff’s office deputies swarming the area.  It was determined the male did not have a gun.  He was, however, intoxicated and on release orders from the court not to be so.  We arrested the 40 year old Jackson, WY man for those violations.

20051625:  On May 15, 2020, at 9:50 p.m., Officer Gerlach responded to a report of a drunk driver.  The suspect had left prior to his arrival, but he learned the driver moved a vehicle not his own without permission.  He was reported to be intoxicated at the time and is also suspected of damaging the car.  Officer Gerlach is still working to locate the suspect to get his account of what occurred.

20051635:  On May 16, 2020, at  1:54 a.m., Officer Raab and his K-9 partner Homer stopped a vehicle for speeding. During the stop, Officer Raab could see small pieces of marijuana in the car.  Homer helped him search the vehicle and they found a small quantity of marijuana and paraphernalia.  He chose not to issue any tickets and gave the driver a warning.

20051716:  On May 16, 2020, at 5:29 p.m., Officer Blair responded to a report of Animal Cruelty.  Officer Blair is still working on her investigation and will forward the result to the county attorney’s office when finished.

20051775:  On May 17, 2020, at 12:29 p.m., RO White responded to a report of a man and woman fighting.  She arrived with other officers and determined that the couple had an argument.  During the argument, the male attempted to leave.  The female refused to let him leave by grabbing ahold of him.  The 47 year old Jackson, WY woman was arrested for a crime called False Imprisonment, a misdemeanor in Wyoming.

20051811:  Animal Control.  We have no other information on this report at this time.
