Police Blotter
July 14, 2020
Welcome to the police blotter. Here are the report calls we took yesterday.
20072194: Hit & Run Collision.
20072205: On July 14, 2020, at 5:51 p.m., Officer O’Donnell responded to a report of Theft. He arrived and spoke with a taxi driver who said he picked up someone who asked to be dropped off at the Loaf-N-Jug so they could access an ATM for the $60 fare. Instead of coming back to pay what they owed, they left by another entrance. That is not very nice. Officer O’Donnell has the suspect’s phone number and will be working to identify them to write a ticket.
20072246: On July 14, 2020, at 10:21 p.m., RO Swicegood responded to the Cowboy bar for a disruptive patron. RO Swicegood asked the patron to leave at the request of the bar. Everything was going great and the very intoxicated man was leaving without incident or argument. RO Swicegood told the man everything was good and he wasn’t in any trouble and was free to leave. The man started arguing with officers and then tried to pick a fight saying, "I just want you to get in the cage," and "You’d be lucky to get me in the cage." RO Swicegood made it clear he didn’t want to arrest the man, but the man continued to be less than pleasant, and squared up to fight. RO Swicegood had to arrest the 31 year old Tampa, FL man for Public Intoxication before he tried picking a fight with someone else. His portable breath test was a .229%.
20072248: On July 14, 2020, at 10:56 p.m., Cpl. Jones responded to a report of a Domestic Disturbance. While contacting the victim to determine what had occurred, the suspect drove through the parking lot. He was stopped and found to be intoxicated. Officers performed some field sobriety tests and the man did poorly and they arrested the 58 year old Farmington, AR man for DUI. They also learned he had pushed his fiancé, so they charged him with Unlawful Contact. If that weren’t enough, they learned the man had marijuana in his vehicle and in the motel room where he was staying. They obtained consent to search and retrieved those items, garnering the man additional charges for Possession of Marijuana. Officers left the victim with resource information for the Community Safety Network and Victim Services, both who help victims of crime obtain additional resources and information.
20072251: On July 14, 2020, at 11:28 p.m., Officer Shreve responded to a Noise Disturbance. When he contacted the apartment owner, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside. No need for a K-9 on this one. Officer Shreve politely asked the man for his marijuana and the man surrendered it. Officer Shreve gave him a warning about the noise and the small quantity of marijuana.
