Police Blotter
August 4, 2020
Welcome to the police blotter, where you get to see everything your police department is doing, not just the highlights.
20080561: On August 5, 2020, at 10:43 a.m., we responded to a report of Domestic Violence. This case is what we call a "cold" report, meaning that it happened some time ago and we are just learning about it now. Our patrol officer has taken the initial report and a detective will follow up on it as soon as the victim can come in to speak with us. Until then, we won’t be saying anything more to protect the integrity of the investigation.
20080570: On August 5, 2020, at 11:42 a.m., we responded to a report of Shoplifting. When we got there, we found a juvenile being detained in the office. We learned the juvenile had put $16.72 in merchandise in their backpack and attempted to leave without paying. We contacted the parent and released the juvenile with a citation.
20080619: On August 4, 2020, at 5:59 p.m., we responded to a Disturbance. When we arrived, we learned a husband and wife had been having an argument. The wife called us when she felt things were getting out of hand. That’s excellent. Not that there was an argument, but that she called before it devolved into violence. We were able to mediate, calm things down and provide the woman with resources should she need them. No enforcement action was necessary on this one.
20080625: Collision Hit & Run.
20080635: On August 5, 2020, at 8:10 p.m., we responded to the Cowboy Bar for…wait for it…a False ID. Shocking, we know. Once again, the outstanding doorman at the Cowboy caught someone trying to get in with an ID that wasn’t real. The 18 year old Fox Point, WI man admitted the ID was fake and we issued him a citation and let him be on his way.
20080646: On August 5, 2020, at 10:18 p.m., we responded by phone to a report of Public Indecency. We were told a man was behaving inappropriately during a massage; rubbing himself and asking for sex. We have the man’s name and intend on having a conversation with him about his behavior. If this is you, please come talk to us so we don’t have to spend valuable time tracking you down.
