Summary of Town Council Meetings
Monday, June 3, 2019
The Jackson Town Council met for three meetings on Monday, June 3rd: Special Workshop, Special Joint Information Meeting ad Regular evening meeting.
Below is a summary of the actions taken at these meetings.
Special Joint Information Meeting
with the Teton County Commissioners
1:30pm - Monday, June 3, 2019
• The Council and Commission discussed SPET projects and set two special joint meetings – June 11 at 6pm for public comment and June 18 for further discussion.
• The Council approved a Professional Services Contract with Logan Simpson Design for the completion of the of the Joint Growth Management Program review and Comprehensive Plan update. The Commission approved a Scope of Work with Logan Simpson Design and agreed to reimburse the Town for 50% of the fixed-fee.
• The Council and Commission authorized the Housing Authority Board to record Workforce Ownership restrictions on the eight permanently deed restricted units located at Melody Ranch Townhomes and to raise the current maximum value of the home by the actual cost to construct the roof only, capped at $150,000 per roof unit and $10,000 for relocation costs. The Housing Authority was also directed and authorized to negotiate with homeowners who have a sunset clause to purchase deed restrictions, provided that all proceeds from the sale of the restriction go towards roof repair.
• The Council and Commission approved an amendment to the Integrated Transportation Plan, Fiscal Year 2020 Comprehensive Plan Implementation Work Plan to include hiring a consultant.
Regular Evening Meeting
6:00pm - Monday, June 3, 2019
• The Council approved meeting minutes and disbursements as presented, and the April Municipal Court Report was placed into the record.
• Special events were approved for Tux and Tails, and World Series of Roping.
• Temporary sign permits were approved for JH Land Trust Picnic and Found Space at Summer Solstice.
• Bid 19-21 was awarded for the Cache Creek Tube Phase 2B Project.
• Planning Item P18-365, Conditional Use Permit for St. John’s Parking at 630 East Broadway, Planning Item P19-071, -072, Subdivision at 310 & 320 Aspen Drive, and Item P19-068, Connection and Use Agreement for Water and Sewer for JH Classical Academy at 2500 South Park Loop were continued to June 17.
• A 90-day stay was issued on Demolition Permit B19-0311.
• The Council directed staff to work with Public Art Administrator to submit a grant application for Creative Place-making at PARKing.
• The Town Managers report contained an update on successful alcohol compliance check visits and the WAM Summer Convention.
