Veterans Day - Thursday, November 11
A Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony will be held in the Town Square at 11:00am. American Legion Post #43 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4274 will be hosting this service.
The Jackson Police Department will be hosting the 2nd Annual Veterans Day Walk/Ruck/Run which will begin at the Town Square following the ceremony. Members of the community are invited to join this event to commemorate Veterans while collecting food donations. It is a free event and open to all. Details at the bottom of this post.
Town Hall Administrative Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 11. Town Hall will re-open at 8:00am on Friday, November 12.
Veterans Day Walk/Ruck/Walk Details
Following the ceremony participants can begin an 11.11 mile walk, ruck march or run through Jackson.
The Jackson Police Department is asking that participants arrive with 35 pounds of non-perishable food (which will be donated to the Jackson Cupboard). Participants can leave this food at the Town Square (or drop it off in a collection box at Town Hall (150 E. Pearl Avenue)). Those who wish to ruck march will carry their donation with them and turn it over to the Jackson Cupboard upon completion.
If you would like to donate food, but do not wish to walk/ruck march/run - please know that you can drop off any amount of non-perishable food items either at the Town Square on November 11th at 11:00am or anytime at the Town Hall.
