Snow King Mountain to Perform Avalanche Mitigation for Hill Climb

March 24 – With warming temperatures and the Town’s first large outdoor event of the season occurring at the base of Snow King, the Snow King Mountain Resort’s ski patrol will be conducting avalanche mitigation for a short period of time on Friday, March 25 between 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M.  Out of an abundance of caution the ski patrol will detonate explosives on the Wolverine ski run in an effort to mitigate potential avalanche hazards during operating hours.

It is anticipated that these planned explosions will only last for a short duration of time; however, we wanted to advise the public of potential loud noises at some point between 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M.  We understand that loud bangs can cause unnerving situations for pets. Please plan to have pets in place where they feel comfortable and are secure.

If you have questions regarding this planned avalanche mitigation event please contact Snow King Mountain Resort at (307) 201-5464.
