The Jackson Town Council met twice yesterday. The following are the actions that were taken at these meetings.

• Council and Commission discussed priorities for the next two years and then ranked them from the highest down. They were: Human Services Support and Funding, Identify and Secure Funding Sources for Local Government, Expanded Transit Service and Effectively Moving People, Effective Voice and Advocacy Statewide and State Level, Town/County Cooperation Effectiveness and Inclusion on Issues, Direction to Travel and Tourism Board, Prioritizing Community over Resort Town, Create Housing Opportunities in County, Water Quality, Ecosystem and Conservation Focus and Protection, and Balancing Conservation with Growth.

• Council and Commission agreed to hold a SPET election in November 2019 and will review draft ballot language at their May 6 joint meeting.

• Council and Commission reviewed marketing efforts by the Travel and Tourism Board and affirmed their joint support on the board’s mission statement. A letter will be provided to the Travel and Tourism Board summarizing the Council and Commission’s support and resolve that the board use all tools available to them while assuring that marketing is done in support of the Comprehensive Plan vision.

• The Council and Commission directed each Administration to bring forward a plan to move the START department to the County’s administration and the Housing Department to the Town’s administration.

• Kristi Malone was introduced as the Town’s new Long Range Planner.

• Mayor Muldoon voiced condolences to Pauline Scholes on the sudden passing of Jeremy.

• The Council approved meeting minutes and disbursements as presented.

• Special events for a TBD MusicFest and Old West Days were approved.

• The Council requested staff to look into a traffic detour or limiting traffic around Town Square during the Memorial Day, 9/11, and Veterans Day American Legion and Fire Department memorial events.

• A temporary sign permit for CoombsFest 2019 was approved.

• Bid 19-16 Public Works South Sewer Main Replacement Project was approved.

• Council approved the Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Shared Parking for the Town of Jackson and Wells Fargo Bank.

• The Water Supply Agreement and Wastewater Sewer Connection and Use Agreement between the Town, Old West Storage, and Brushbuck Guide Services was approved.

• The Council gave direction on proposed action steps for their first three priorities which will be further discussed in the March 18 workshop.

• Temporary malt beverage permits were approved for the Jackson Hole Juggernauts for roller derby bouts in April, May and June.

• Item P18-338 -339: Zoning Map Amendments at 460 and 660 E Broadway Avenue were continued to April 15, 2019.
• Item P19-007: Boundary Adjustment at 270 Spruce Drive was approved as presented.

• Ordinances A through S related to LDR clean-ups were approved at third reading and assigned ordinance numbers. All Ordinances will be published in the legal section of the March 6 newspaper and become effective March 6.

• The Council moved their April 1 regular Council meeting to April 8 due to spring break. (The April 1 JIM has been moved to April 8 as well)

• The Council directed staff to not accept any application for a retail liquor license until further notice is given from Council.

• The Town Managers report contained an update on issuing an RFP to update Character District 1 and Historic Preservation, Lodging Tax, Retail Liquor License Applications, success stories at the cemetery and law enforcement, and the Guiding and Promoting Sustainability (GPS) Initiative.
