START Announces Summer Schedule and Pilot Program

Jackson, Wyo. May 22, 2019 – The change in seasons means a seasonal change in transit service for the Valley. On Saturday, May 25, START buses will switch from the current spring schedule to the summer schedule including a new pilot program.  This pilot program will provide increased summer service from Jackson to Teton Village via the Route 20 Green Line.

The pilot program Green Line will run every 30 minutes and is scheduled to remain in effect until Sunday, June 30, 2019.  The complete 2019 START Bus summer schedule, including the expanded Green Line service, is now available on the START Bus website (www.startbus.com).  Commuters, residents and visitors are encouraged to utilize the Stilson Lot – Village Road Transit Center - as a park and ride location.   The increased Green Line service is being launched an effort to help reduce the number of vehicles on the WY22 Corridor.

“We are proud of the partnership we have with the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the Teton Village Association as we work together to reduce traffic congestion to and from the resort,” said Darren Brugmann, START Bus Director.  “As we continue to gain ridership, we are constantly looking for ways to enhance service.”   During the 2018/2019 winter season, START ridership recorded the most rides in winter history with 628, 557 riders.

While the increased service on the Green Line pilot program will conclude on June 30, the standard summer schedule will remain in effect until September 29, 2019.   The future of this increased summer service of the Green Line will be determined at a later date.

Passengers can now easily sign up for START Rider Alerts. These alerts will immediately notify the rider if a bus stop is closed, if a road becomes closed, or a specific route is impacted. It's easy and only takes a minute to do.
