The Jackson Town Council has scheduled a Special Town Council Meeting on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 1:00 pm.  During this special meeting the Town Council will consider an Emergency Declaration to assist the Town of Jackson organization with emergency measures moving forward.

Due to the evolving situation and the need for social distancing, the Town Council will also consider enacting mitigation measures for private establishments in an effort to further protect employees, patrons, and the public during this critical time of infectivity.

The Town Council will also discuss best practices on how to hold public meetings and take public comment with the impact of COVID-19 while observing social distancing practices.  Other items include a discussion regarding future Town Council meetings, communication briefings, and other COVID-19 related matters.

Staff reports and/or documents for several of these items are being prepared and will be posted as soon as they are available.

Town staff is working on technology to allow the public to comment through a phone line during meetings, but in the meantime, public comment can be sent to council@jacksonwy.gov .  Public comment should be submitted at least 1 hour prior to the meeting to allow the elected officials the best opportunity to consider those comments.

Due to recommended social distancing practices the public is encouraged to view the meeting online.  The meeting will be streamed on the Town of Jackson’s website at: http://townofjackson.com/290/Watch-a-Meeting-Online.  A recording of the meeting will be archived on the Town of Jackson’s website following this meeting.

The Town of Jackson appreciates the public’s understanding as we work through unprecedented events facing our community and the world.
