The Jackson Town Council held 3 meetings on Monday, October 19. The following is an overview of the Town Council’s actions taken at these meetings.
Special Town Council Meeting at 1:00PM - Town Square and Historic Preservation Land Development Regulations Update
• The Council received an update on proposed updates to the Land Development Regulations for the Town Square area, new regulations to preserve historic structures, a new Town Center Design Overlay to protect western character, and amendments to the Demolition Standards in the Jackson Municipal Code. Staff was directed to draft amendments and to bring them back in draft ordinance form.
Regular Town Council Workshop at 3:00PM
• The Council received an update on the Town’s water, sewer, and capacity rate structure and proposed fee changes. This discussion was continued to a future meeting yet to be determined.
• The budget discussion scheduled for workshop discussion was continued to a future meeting due to time constraints.
Regular Town Council Evening Meeting at 6:00PM
• A proclamation was read which recognized Dr. Travis Riddell, Dr. Paul Beaupre, and Jodie Pond for going the “extra mile” to protect the health and safety of our community.
• The Council approved meeting minutes and disbursements as presented.
• The Council approved reallocation Grant Agreements (Budge Drive Landslide to the Cache Creek Tube Improvement Project and the Rancher Street Complete Street Project) with the Office of State Lands and Investments.
• An Encroachment Agreement was approved with Stage Stop to allow a new canopy to encroach into the Town right-of-way at 135 N Cache Street.
• The temporary sign permit for Becoming Jackson Whole was approved.
• The 2021 Rodeo Dates were approved and the 2020 Rodeo End-of-Season Report was accepted as presented.
• The Council approved suspending their meeting rules through January 31, 2021 to allow remote meeting attendance and participation by the Council, staff, and the public.
• Two Subdivision Plats at 115 Nelson Drive and 505 East Simpson were approved.
• An amendment to the landscape plan CUP was approved at 170 North Glenwood Street.
• The Council approved a resolution adopting budget amendment #1 for FY2021.
• The Council approved a resolution authorizing submission of a coronavirus relief grant with the Office of State Lands and Investments.
• The Town Managers Report contained an update on open positions and the October September Sales and Lodging Tax.
