Town Council Workshop | Monday, March 8 at 3:00pm

On Monday, March 8 at 3:00pm there will be a Town Council Workshop largely focused on downtown improvements for the near and longer terms. With the success of parklets and flex-space last summer, Council will consider what elements to continue for the coming summer. The Town surveyed community members last fall and 73% of over 400 respondents were in favor of continuing parklets.

At Monday’s Workshop, Community Development Director will present about parklets, use of the public right-of‐way, flex‐space, and potential short-term steps for managed parking. Public comment will be taken on this item via Zoom or in the Council Chambers (details below).

Then, Assistant Director of Public Works, Johnny Ziem will present to Council about longer-term pedestrian improvements to downtown on Center and Deloney streets. This project is in early stages and seeks to improve ADA and pedestrian access overall. Public comment will be taken on this item via Zoom or in the Council Chambers (details below).

Additionally, Assistant Town Manager Roxanne Robinson will be present about Town Council Liaison Roles. These roles have not yet been agreed upon for current seated Council members. Town Council Liaisons are assigned to various Joint Powers Boards, Commissions, Advisory Committees, and outside agencies to attend meetings, remain informed about issues, and share information with the rest of Council.
