Overview 

The Town of Jackson established an Equity Task Force in 2022. This group of nine community members is tasked with advising the Town on equity and inclusion strategies and making recommendations to the Town and Council on priorities and policies to help bring a wider variety of voices and perspectives into conversations and inform decision-making. 

Meetings

Third Thursday of the month from 3:30-6:30pm.

Recommendations | December 2022 

• Translate documents and Town signs into Spanish.
• Direct the Housing Department to work on housing for seniors and an Assisted Living Center.
• Begin Council meetings with a Land Acknowledgment and connect with Native Tribal members.  
• Revisit and consider removing policy that limits on-street parking in the winter.
• Establish Employee Resource Groups and eventually hire a Director of Equity.
• Develop and administer an internal Equity Questionnaire for the Town.
• Recommendation to direct staff to add a chapter focused on equity to the Comprehensive Plan.
