The Jackson Hole Bomb Squad is a joint operation of the Teton County Sheriff's Office and the Jackson Police department. They are part of the Region 8 RERT, (Regional Emergency Response Team), which covers Teton County and parts of the surrounding counties to the north and south. The Jackson Hole Bomb Squad has been serving the residents of this region for over ten years.
The primary mission of the Jackson Hole Bomb Squad is to ensure the safety and well being of the members of the public and first responders in an explosive-related incident.
The Jackson Hole Bomb Squad is comprised of 2 highly trained bomb technicians and two support officers. They are responsible for the handling, transportation and rendering safe of all explosive items located within Region 8. In the last year, they have handled 32 calls, including the recovery of 26 modified grenades.
If a suspicious item is found, call 9-1-1 immediately to request assistance and clear the area. Do not attempt to move or open the suspected item under any circumstances.
