Recreation opportunities abound in Jackson Hole! The Parks & Recreation department manages the Recreation Center in the Town of Jackson in addition to a number of recreational programs for kids and adults. Jackson and the surrounding area have activities that can keep you busy for an entire vacation or a lifetime!

National Parks

The Town is located approximately 60 miles south of Yellowstone National Park and 12 miles south of Grand Teton National Park. The headwaters of the Snake River are located in Teton County and the river offers plenty of opportunities for fishing, kayaking, scenic floats, and white-water rafting.  

Teton Village 

Teton Village is north and west of Jackson, about a 20-minute drive from Town and boasts world-class restaurants, shopping, health spas, and a wide variety of activities in every season.

Ski Resorts

In the winter, options for skiing abound at one of three area ski resorts, Grand Targhee Resort, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, or Snow King Resort. There are also options for Nordic skiing and snowmobiling.

Hiking, Climbing, & Mountain Biking

This valley has many miles of trails for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Climbing opportunities include a bouldering park at the base of Snow King Mountain. 

Shopping & Dining

Jackson boasts a full spectrum of restaurants and excellent shopping around a few blocks off of Town Square.
