Recreation

Recreation opportunities abound in Jackson Hole! The Teton County/Jackson Parks & Recreation department manages the Recreation Center in the Town of Jackson in addition to a number of recreational programs for kids and adults. Whatever suits your pleasure, Jackson and the surrounding area has enough to do to keep you busy for an entire vacation or an entire lifetime!

National Parks

The Town is located approximately 60 miles south of Yellowstone National Park and 12 miles south of Grand Teton National Park.  The headwaters of the Snake River are located in Teton County and the river offers plenty of opportunities for:

Ski Resorts

In the winter, visitors are encouraged to ski at one of the three ski resorts in the county, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Grand Targhee Resort or Snow King Resort. There are also many free and affordable nordic skiing options in the area. If you prefer a motor with your winter sports, Jackson also has a large number of snowmobiling outfitters for you to choose from.

Biking & Hiking

Many miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails are located throughout the valley. Try your hand at mountaineering and rock climbing, check out Jackson's free Bouldering Park, or even dare yourself to climb to the top Jackson Hole's most awe-inspiring peak: The Grand Teton.

Shopping & Dining

Jackson boasts many fine restaurants and excellent shopping.

The Town of Jackson is adorned with historic boardwalks, and anchored by the famous Town Square and elk antler arches. Snow King Ski Area literally falls into the streets of town and the heart of the shopping and dining experience.

North of Jackson just a few miles lies Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. There are a ton of shopping, fine and casual dining, and recreational opportunities in each park and in between!

North and west of Jackson about 20 minutes is the world-famous Jackson Hole Mountain Resort where wonderful restaurants, incredible shopping, health spas, and endless activity choices in winter and summer are part of the Mountain Resort's charm.
